So, if you know me, you know how much I adored the Kingsbrier Quintuplets series! Seriously, one of my faves of all times! I was so excited to get my hands on a copy of Dash and Kat’s story (Thank you, Jody!!!! 💖)… I truly didn’t expect it to hold a candle to the Quints, but how could you go wrong with Drew and Brier’s son?!
Let’s just say that I was literally hooked from the first page! Set on a ski slope in Colorado, both Kat and Dash work ski patrol. I instantly loved Dash’s quirky personality and Kat’s strength and loyalty!
My ONLY complaint is that it is a short story and was over waaaaay too soon! You MUST read this! I promise you won’t be disappointed!

Book Review – Adam (Kingsbrier Quintuplets # 4 by Jody Kaye @jodykaye
Publication Date: February 5, 2019
Coming-of-Age / Family Saga
Standalone in the Kingsbrier Quintuplets series
Series number: 4
Description:
Since quitting med school, Adam Cavanaugh has lied about everything, and the truth is catching
up with him. He knows it’s time to prove he’s someone his family can be proud of.
Temple has high standards—ones Adam will never reach. But he wants a woman like her in his
life someday and is willing to let Temple teach him how to be a better man. That is, if he can
keep his heart out of the equation.
Who would have guessed that her perfect life was an illusion? Or that she was falling for him
too? And when Adam’s conscience compels him to tell the truth about his past, will his deceit
stop Temple from trusting anyone ever again?
Excerpt:
“No bridesmaid to hook-up with tonight? Let me guess.” Temple lifted a finger. “Daveigh’s
friends are smart enough to not let you anywhere near them?” Temple glanced around the bar
as if she was looking for someone with loose morals whom she could direct his attention to.
“It’s the other way around. I know not to get involved with my sister’s friends.” He leaned in,
mocking her and whispering in her ear over the noise of the crowd. “They’re too good for me.”
Temple’s eyes were wide when he pulled back. Then she shrugged it off, placing her elbow on
the bar and propping her knuckles up under her chin. “Glad you know your place.”
She really didn’t like him and Adam was torn between being a nice guy and a full-on douche.
“You might want to watch out for the glass,” he reminded before inquiring, “Why are you here
anyhow?”
“I needed dinner and was out of wine.” The drink seemed like the most important part so he
asked her how many glasses she’d consumed. There wasn’t a plate on the bar and, luckily, the
guy on the opposite side was with a date. However, his training made him keenly aware that
Temple attracted attention from other dark corners. “Two, no three. I ordered a third when I
finished eating.”
“Where’s your husband?”
“Out of town.”
“How are you getting home?”
“I have a car…Wait!” She smacked her forehead. “Are you propositioning me? For some
reason, I figured you’d be smoother than that. Kingsbrier, you have a reputation to uphold. I’m,”
she was pensive for a second, rubbing where she’d hit, “disappointed.”
Disappointed, he mouthed. Considering who was saying it and that the comment was about
him, it made perfect sense.
“I’m going to drive you home. That’s all.”. She frowned. “I need my car.”
“Not tonight you don’t.” They’d figure a way to get her back here to pick it up once she was
sober.
Temple looked away. She placed a finger on the smooth part of the broken base, sliding it
toward her. “If I’d cut myself would you’f sewn it up?” She slurred and he was glad he offered.
“Yeah.” He snagged her purse off of the chair back and placed it on her shoulder so Temple
didn’t absently forget it. As they stood she lost her balance, catching herself with a palm to his
chest and patting him there distastefully.
“Gotta love the Hippocratic Oath. I’d save you too, Kingsbrier. Even if I hate you.”

I am a HUGE fan of Jody Kaye! I was hooked the instant I started reading Cavanaugh, the precursor story to the Kingsbrier Quints series, and nothing I have read since has disappointed me!
Adam, book 4 in the series, is Adam’s story. The oldest of the Quints, by only minutes, and heir to the Kingsbrier fortune, Adam has been running from his family, his legacy, and the expectations that come with being the eldest and heir. Expected to take over the family business, Adam chooses instead to go to medical school and become a doctor; however, that didn’t happen. He left med school for the military, and never clued anyone in. Now, Adam has been discharged and his family is still none the wiser. Adam keeps up the facade, while working for a security firm far, far from home.
Unsettled, and unsatisfied with the man he has become, he knows he needs to come clean with his loved ones, but he wants to be able to show them proof that he is becoming a man that they can be proud of before doing so. Of course, that never works, as lie piles upon lie, and just digs Adam further into the hole.
I really loved Adam’s story. I laughed and I ugly cried. Jody has that effect on me. Her story-lines are engaging from the start, full of emotion, and you never know what is coming next.
The characters are so well developed that I feel as if I know them. It is fun coming back to this series and the characters that I love so much – in fact, I am going back through and reading them again.
I believe that while Adam is book 4 in the series, it could be read as a stand-alone. There is a backstory that would be missing; however, Jody does an outstanding job of weaving the stories together, and allowing you to understand the intricacies and dynamics of the relationships without having to go back to the start. I highly recommend reading the entire series, though, as I know you will love the family as much as I do! ❤️❤️

Book Review and Blog Tour – Shamrock (Linear Tactical Series) by Janie Crouch

Author: Janie Crouch
has a price.
He never meant for her to pay it.
Aiden has never left anyone behind. Not a comrade and certainly not an
innocent. But when an undercover mission goes wrong, he’s forced to abandon a
woman trapped in a human trafficking ring.
Violet learned brutally that no one is promised a happy ending. She knows Aiden
blames himself for his part, but she refuses to let her abduction define the
rest of her life.
She won’t be a victim again. And she’s going after what she wants: Aiden.
Watching Violet transform herself into a fierce warrior is the sexiest thing
Aiden has ever seen. The honorable plan would be to stay away from her–let her
heal and grow without the shadow of his mistakes clouding her progress–even
though every instinct tells him to claim her for his own.
But when they discover the danger they thought they’d left behind is closer
than ever, they’ll have to face their deepest fears and fight
side-by-side in order to survive.
I was so excited to read Aiden’s story, and I was not disappointed. I was waiting for the series to lose it’s sparkle, but it just hasn’t happened! Thank goodness! Aiden – code name Shamrock – is undercover trying to bring down Spellman’s crime syndicate, as we know from previous books. While working one night, he finds Spellman’s men have a woman working for them who appears to be there under duress. Aiden knows he needs to get her out, but can’t without blowing his cover.
Violet, kidnapped by Spellman’s men and subjected to degradation of the worst kind, recognizes that Aiden is different from the other men, and he gives her that little bit of hope needed to survive the torture and humiliation.
I would truly be hard pressed to choose a favorite book in this series, but Shamrock is definitely a contender for the #1 spot. These books are so well written, the storyline never seems to flatline, the men are swoon worthy, and the women are seriously kick-ass, all in their own ways.
These books could be read as stand-alones; however, the stories are so closely intertwined, I don’t recommend it, as they build on each other and you would be missing a lot of back story.
All I can say is this is an absolute must-read!

flashed and Aiden’s hazel eyes. “Yes. I have nothing but respect for
you.”
you,” she whispered, trailing her fingers through his thick hair. “And thank
you for getting me home safely last night. And like I said before, thank you
for getting me out of that hellhole a month ago, for figuring out that I was in
trouble when to anyone else it just looked like a normal part of that
situation.”
furrowed. “You’re welcome for all those things. But there’s no need—”
finger up to his lips. “I just wanted to say it one more time to make sure I’d
been clear. Because now I’m done saying thank you. And I think you better take
me inside. Otherwise, Mrs. Mazille and her neighborhood watch might get quite
an eyeful with what I’m planning to do to you.”
only so much a man could take. A line where he snapped. A great deal of his
Special Forces training had been spent learning how to push that line as far
back as possible.
Violet’s fingers reached for the hem of the T-shirt covering her body and began
pulling it off, Aiden found his line very clearly.

Book Review and Blog Tour – My Quickie Wedding by Christie Ridgeway
My Quickie Wedding by Christie Ridgway is AVAILABLE NOW!
Instant. Attraction.
It heats the blood, causes the heart to race, and messes with the making of rational decisions. A person, may, for example, find themselves saying “I do” to a near-stranger on an impulsive overnight in Sin City.
The next morning, an aghast Connor Montgomery and Jojo Thatcher stare at each other over the tangled bed sheets. How had this happened? Neither is eager to acknowledge they followed a reckless urge and got hitched. Surely, it’s a bad nightmare.
Or maybe, just maybe, the beginning of a dream come true.
My Quickie Wedding is book three in the Heartbreak Hotel series and is a STANDALONE NOVELLA.

I so love this series, and couldn’t wait for this book to come out! Ms. Ridgeway did not disappoint! Every book in the series has been full of sweet romance along with a hefty dose of heart!
JoJo has been one of my favorite characters from the start – mischievous and full of spunk! I am so happy to finally have her story.
A bet made in haste takes JoJo and Connor to a place they never thought they would find themselves.
As with the previous books in the series, the characters are so incredibly well developed that you can’t help but love them!
This is a must read for romance lovers!

After an attempted suicide Carter finds himself in a coma. He is able to hear the world around him, yet he can’t move. What he hears propels Carter to begin to see life in a new way, especially when one of his nurses, Kinley, shares parts of her tragic past with him. Soon, Carter realizes he is falling in love with her.
Months after being transferred from the hospital, to a rehabilitation facility, he suddenly wakes up with a passion to live that he never had before and a determination to find the one person he feels may be able to help him put the pieces of his life together again. However, when he returns to the hospital, Kinley is gone and Carter must try to find her based solely on the things she shared with him while he was in a coma.
Only, nothing is as it seems and Carter learns the biggest lesson of them all… the differences between expectation, perception, and reality.
Goodreads / Amazon / Barnes & Noble / iBooks / Kobo
Wow! What a story! I had no idea what I was getting into, but I was not expecting to go on such a roller coaster of emotion.
Carter, seeing no other way through his pain, attempts to take his life, and ends up in a coma. Kinley, assigned to him as his nurse, spends time each day talking and reading to him. What she doesn’t know is that through it all, Carter can hear her.
Over the course of Carter’s time in the hospital, a connection is formed, though Carter has never seen or spoken to Kinley. Out of concern for Kinley’s well-being and for her career, Big Bertha, the head nurse, has her transferred, having seen the signs of Florence Nightingale Syndrome before.
The emotional intensity of this book is EVERYTHING! A bond between two strangers has a trickle down effect on those around them, most unaware.
While this book deals with highly difficult subject matter, such as suicide, self-harm, and death, it is written in such a graceful manner that doesn’t dance around the hard edges, rather calling it like it is. It is a perfect telling of self-discovery and overcoming adversity. The underlying message is that hope is everything.

I don’t know how I have missed Katy Regenery’s modern fairytale series! They are so on my TBR now! Fragments of Ash is a modern Cinderella story that I didn’t want to end.
I loved so many of the characters – Ashley, Julian, Jock, and Gus… oh, Gus Gus made my heart full! Ashley has never known love, with an addict supermodel for a sister/mother, and a madman for a step-father. When her mother dies, the step-father declares his intent to marry her and produce a tribe of children. She knows she can’t let that happen, so she goes on the run. While in hiding, she learns just what she is made of, and how to rely on someone other than herself.
The storyline moves along nicely and is very engaging! I did not want to put it down!
Instead of going inside, I walk around the house, to the backyard, to see if I can help bring in any dirty dishes, but the picnic table is empty. All traces of our dinner party have already been cleaned up by the Ducharmes siblings.

This was the first of Janie Crouch’s works that I have read; however, I can assure you it will not be the last! I was instantly sucked into this story and could not put it down.
Zac and his band of brothers in every way but by blood live in the small town of Oak Creek, Wyoming. They do a booming business by training others in self defense, survival skills, and weaponry.
Annie, an ER Doctor has returned to town after 6 years in Tampa. Shy, quiet, mostly invisible, and prone to anxiety attacks, is on staff when Zac is brought in after he lays down his Harley to avoid hitting a pregnant dog (who he adopts, by the way).
Annie and Zac have a long, tumultuous history that ended in a one night stand gone bad. How bad, Zac doesn’t remember.
I simply loved Annie’s character. I could identify with her introverted nature, her fear of crowds and her love of books. She prefers to remain invisible, and hope the world passes her by. Zac was so kind and caring and I couldn’t help but love him too.
The story line moves along quickly… too quickly, really! I did not want it to end. It has plenty of nail-biting moments. It was incredibly well-written.
There are some violent scenes that address some tough topics: sexual assault, battery, murder.
I simply can’t wait for Finn and Charlotte’s story to come out!!

Book Review and Blog Tour – Center Of Gravity by K. K. Allen
FLIRTY, SEXY, AND HEARTFELT FORBIDDEN SPORTS ROMANCE SET IN THE WORLD OF
PROFESSIONAL DANCE. (STANDALONE)
I came to L.A. with dreams bigger than me.
To learn from the best choreographers in the business and secure a professional
dance gig working for Hollywood’s elite.
Everything was going according to plan—until I was literally shoved into the
arms of the one man who could make or break my career.
Come to find out, it wasn’t my career I had to worry about.
It was my heart.
Alexandra “Lex” Quinn screamed amateur, save for the way she moved across the
dance floor.
She was athleticism and grace, precision and passion, and she had a stage
presence I couldn’t tear my eyes from.
I wanted her…on my team, in my bed.
There was only one problem…
I couldn’t have both.

K.K. Allen has struck gold again! Easily one of my favorite authors, Center Of Gravity did not disappoint. I literally could not put this book down. Thank goodness I started it on the weekend so that I could finish it!!
I love anything that centers around the world of dance or music, so when I began reading, I was instantly transported into the book.
Lex and Shane, best friends and roommates, moved to LA from Seattle to pursue their dreams of becoming professional dancers. They live in a skeevy apartment with air mattresses for beds while studying dance at the renowned Gravity Dance Complex. Shane convinces Lex to attend an open audition, and though she didn’t get the spot, it spurs her on. When she receives an invitation to audition for another opportunity, she goes all out.
Turns out, the audition is for a back-up dancer to pop sensation, Winter, and she would be working with her idol/nemesis, the famed choreographer, Theodore Noska.
I absolutely loved the characters in this book. Shane, hopelessly flamboyant, lover of stilettos, and truly loyal friend, may be my favorite; however, they are all so beautifully developed that I found myself able to identify with so many of them. Reggie gave me the creeps, I felt so sorry for Winter, a child that had to grow up way too fast, and Theo and Lex… they made me want to swoon!
The storyline moves along at a very fast clip and it was over way too soon. I had to keep reading to find out what was coming next!
This truly is a sweet, sexy read that all lovers of a happily ever after will enjoy immensely!
